Jain Dal Premix Recipe, when you are traveling and looking for healthy and delicious jain food full of proteins.

Ingredients

– 1 cup Toor Dal (split pigeon peas)
– 1/2 cup Moong Dal (split green gram)
– 1/4 cup Masoor Dal (red lentils)
– 1/4 cup Chana Dal (split chickpeas)
– 1 tsp Cumin
– 1 tsp Mustard seeds
– 1 tsp Hing (Asfoetida)
– 1 tsp Turmeric powder
– Salt to taste
– Ghee for roasting
– Curry leaves, whole red chilies for tempering
– Red chili powder, garam masala for seasoning

Steps:

1. Prepare Dals: Soak dals (Toor, Moong, Masoor, Chana) for 30 mins. Wash and sun dry them. Add ghee and roast dals for a few minutes until fragrant. Cool and grind coarsely in a mixer.
2. Make Premix: In a pan, add ghee. Add curry leaves, whole red chilies, hing, cumin, mustard seeds. Let spices splutter.
3. Add ground dal mix, turmeric, red chili powder, garam masala. Roast together for a few minutes. Add salt to taste. Cool and store.

### To Cook:
– Mix 1-2 tbsp premix with chopped tomatoes and water. Boil until dal is cooked and soft.
– Garnish with cilantro 😊
